Alaska State Troopers have released information on the driver who was involved in a car accident near Teller on June 18th. 37-year-old James Bloomstrand was behind the wheel during a wreck that resulted in the death of an 18-month-old child on the Teller road.
According to Troopers, Bloomstrand was transported for medical treatment on June 18th, last Sunday, after his vehicle rolled-over, causing the male child to be ejected from the car. The child died as a result of his injuries.
After investigation, Bloomstrand was charged with driving under the influence and manslaughter.
He has been remanded to Anchorage Correctional Complex and is set to appear at the Nome Courthouse for a preliminary hearing on Thursday.
