Kotzebue Incumbent Judge Reappointed to 2nd Judicial District for 2018

Judge Paul A. Roetman first began presiding over the Kotzebue superior court in 2010. His reappointed term will cover the calendar year of 2018.

Unofficial vote tallies from Tuesday’s Municipal Election in Nome suggest most incumbents kept their seats, including Nome Mayor Richard Beneville. There were two exceptions: City Council Seat B challenger Doug Johnson, who defeated Louis Green Sr., and School Board Seat D challenger Sandy Martinson, who defeated Panganga Pungowiyi. In Tuesday’s only race with three candidates, Adam Martinson won for City Council Seat A.

Incumbent Nome mayor Richard Beneville is slated to run unopposed in the October 3rd municipal election. Multiple seats on the Common Council and on the School Board will see ballot races.
