Despite Statewide Teacher Shortage, Nome Schools Start Year Strong

As the new school year begins, all core classroom positions and most supporting positions have been filled at Nome Public Schools. But that’s despite a trend of increasing difficulty in hiring teachers for rural Alaska. “It’s been a struggle,” Nome’s superintendent says.
