It was a special honor for the rural community of Noorvik to be selected as the site for the inauguration of Governor Mike Dunleavy. When the day came and poor weather forced the swearing-in ceremony to happen elsewhere, Noorvik residents watched the event live-streamed from Kotzebue, then held their gala celebration once the weather cleared and the First Family finally landed. Were locals fazed by the delay? Not at all, reported volunteer fellow Katie Kazmierski, on location in Noorvik.
