Bodies of deceased snowmachiners working to be recovered, Troopers say
The bodies of two missing snowmachiners returning to Nome from Teller were found yesterday (Tuesday, Dec. 12) according to Alaska State Trooper dispatch. Nome Public Works garage catches fire
A structure fire at the Nome Public Works garage on Saturday brought a quick response from the Nome Volunteer Fire Department. No one was reported in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries occurred due to the blaze.
Missing Nome man seen alive by Troopers a day before he was found deceased
39 year old Bo Adams of Nome was reported missing on Tuesday morning but seen later that day by Alaska State Troopers flying overhead. More than 24 hours afterwards, Adams was located deceased, and his family is questioning why help didn’t arrive in time to save him.

Norton Sound communities assess flood aftermath
As water levels receded Sunday, Sept. 18, residents in the Bering Strait region began taking stock of the damage done by the strongest fall storm to hit Western Alaska in fifty years. Sea berms were destroyed, homes were flooded or knocked off their foundations, and drinking water sources were contaminated.
