Drugs and Alcohol Seized at Nome Airports; Charges Pending Against Suspects

Alaska State Troopers stopped an unnamed traveler from attempting to import alcohol from Nome into Gambell over the weekend.

On Sunday, Troopers contacted the passenger at a Nome airport and seized four 750ml bottles of liquor. Currently, a charge for importation of alcohol is pending.

Also in Nome, Troopers seized one ounce of marijuana from a piece of cargo at a local airline on Monday. Troopers say a suspect has been identified in this case, and a charge is pending.

The names of the suspects in both cases have not been released at this time.
