Nome’s City Council plans to finance the purchase of diesel fuel for Nome Joint Utility System during a special meeting this afternoon.

For no more than $5,500,000, the City will fund a revenue anticipation note for NJUS as well as pay for the accrued interest on the 2016 note, if the resolution is successfully approved.

Also on the short meeting agenda is a resolution to improve water and sewer infrastructure at the River Street Wastewater Lift Station, which the council considers to be Nome’s number-one local state funding priority.

Today’s special meeting is set to commence at noon in Nome Council Chambers.
