Here we are again in Ordinary Time in the Church year. Ordinary things in Nome might look like listening to the waves of the Bering Strait, beachcombing, hanging fish to dry, watching the sunset at midnight, walking the dog, sipping coffee while on the tundra, or even chopping a carrot for moose stew.
These moments may seem small, but they hold quiet beauty. In the rhythm of daily life, we often find peace, clarity, and even a nudge from God. The ordinary becomes sacred when we slow down enough to notice it.
God doesn’t wait for big events to show up in our lives. He meets us right where we are – in the wind off the sea, in the warmth of a cup of coffee, and in the silence between steps. So today, let’s pay attention. The holy is often in the everyday.
At KNOM Radio Mission, our daily broadcasts may seem ordinary—news, weather, music, prayer—but they are far from small. These simple moments of connection and care travel across Western Alaska, reaching people in their homes, on the trail, in moments of joy and struggle. Please know we’re thinking of you and praying for you and your family. We would love to hear from you! Email us at belong@knom.org or call us at 907-868-1200. You are always close to our hearts and prayers.
