March 28, 2017. I got a call that changed my life.
That sounds like click-bait, but it’s true! That was the day Margaret called me with an offer to come to KNOM as a volunteer fellow. I was in Miami, and imagining a year in rural Alaska felt surreal.
And now, the 2018-2019 cohort of volunteers is coming together. I’ve been thinking back to that moment in Miami, the day I got the call, and I asked Gabe and Karen to do the same. This is what we remember, and how it all looks to me now.
