There’s an extra (smiling) face around KNOM this summer: Jeff Collins, a Nome school teacher who’s pitching in some part-time work in our business department.

Closer to our goal!

Our goal – to raise $1 million for our digital studio expansion and renovation project – is a few notches closer to reality, thanks to the continuing generosity of so many supporters.

Making our new studios

The sounds of hammers, saws, and heavy equipment continues to echo throughout KNOM studios, as work on our studio annex – the Tom and Florence Busch Digital Studios – moves onward. A moment of need

An exciting milestone!

It’s both exciting and humbling to report the continued progress of our campaign for the Tom and Florence Busch Digital Studios. We’ve just passed a crucial landmark; with donations now approaching $500,000, we have enough funds to build Phase 1 of the project, the outside frame of our studio annex. The digital studios project will […]

Warmer weather and a transmitter update

At the end of April, volunteer engineer Les Brown, longtime Alaska radio engineer Chuck Lakaytis, and maintenance specialist Rolland Trowbridge installed dynamic carrier control equipment at our AM transmitter site.
