Nome Board of Education Expected To Pass FY ’18 Second Budget Revision

During tonight’s meeting, Shawn Arnold, Superintendent for Nome Public Schools, is expected to discuss seven varied topics including a diversity survey, standard operating procedure, and student handbooks.
Nome City Council Approves FY ’18 Budgets, Lease Agreement, and Port Commission Candidate

Besides approving all City of Nome budgets, the Council also voted in favor of authorizing a lease agreement with Alaska Marine Lines. For a period of five years, beginning September 1st, Alaska Marine Lines will pay the City $1,540.86 a week for two blocks of property at the Port of Nome.
Nome City Council Expected to Pass City Budgets for FY ‘18

If the Council passes the Nome General Fund Municipal budget, then the total expenditure will be slightly over $12 million for FY ‘18. The Council meets tonight at 7pm in Council Chambers.
