Nome resident presents solution to youth vandalism

As summer hits Nome, there is typically an increase in reports of vandalism around town. One thing that has repeatedly concerned Nome property owners is preventative measures for vandalism, which appears to be mostly from youth.

Federal Subsistence Board makes regulation changes to Units 22 and 23

The FSB’s teleconference in April covered issues relevant to Units 22 and 23. Those topics included a decision to conserve Alaska hare in Units 22 and 23, a redefinition of Alaska hare, closures and rescinded closures in moose hunting, and a special action for musk ox permits.

Introducing Nome-Beltz School’s new varsity-level ski team

Nome-Beltz Middle High School added a new varsity-level sport to its list. Before spring semester 2022, cross country skiing only existed at Nome-Beltz as a club sport. Now, it is a school-sponsored and funded sport: the Nome-Beltz Ski/Biathlon Team.
