Over the weekend, Alaska State Troopers in Unalakleet dealt with two separate thefts: one in Stebbins and the other in St. Michael.
According to a Trooper’s report, investigation into an assault in Stebbins found that 29-year-old Richard Hunt of Stebbins had potentially committed more than one crime on Friday. Hunt was believed to have assaulted several people, including a Village Police Officer, stolen an item from a residence he entered unlawfully, and tampered evidence prior to his arrest.
Hunt was remanded to the Unalakleet jail with almost ten alleged charges, including misconduct involving weapons in the 4th degree. Troopers say Hunt possessed a firearm while under the influence.
Yesterday, in the community of St. Michael, multiple items with a value of approximately $200 were reportedly stolen from a local business. Troopers in Unalakleet have identified a juvenile suspect in the burglary, but the investigation is ongoing.
