City Council to Dole Out 2017 NSEDC Community Benefit Share Funds During Regular Meeting

Nome’s City Council plans to award the 2017 Norton Sound Economic Development Corporation (NSEDC) Community Benefit Share Funds to various local entities during tonight’s regular meeting.

20 entities have submitted funding proposals to receive part of the $150,000 in NSEDC money, which will be the sole focus of a City Council work session at 5pm tonight.

Other new business on the Council’s agenda includes an ordinance to extend payment deadlines for City property tax by more than two weeks. This proposed amendment to the Nome Code of Ordinances is in the first reading phase.

Before adjourning the regular meeting, the Council could pass a resolution to allow City Manager Tom Moran to enter into agreement with Bristol Engineering Services Corporation and John Blees, a senior engineer.

Tonight’s regular meeting begins at 7pm in Council Chambers following the conclusion of the 5 o’clock work session.
