With the start of a new year comes new appointments for judicial districts around the state.
According to a release from the Alaska Court system, Superior Court Judge Paul (A.) Roetman was reappointed to preside over the second Judicial District. Chief Justice Craig Stowers of the Alaska Supreme Court announced the incumbent’s appointment for another year term at the end of 2017 (Dec 22nd).
Judge Roetman first began presiding over the Kotzebue superior court in 2010. As presiding judge for the 2nd Judicial District, Roetman will handle administrative responsibilities, among other duties, for courts in Nome, Kotzebue, Unalakleet, and Utqiagvik. His reappointed term to the 2nd Judicial District will cover the calendar year of 2018.
