As the weeks of Advent inch us closer to Christmastime, the spirit is slowly building around KNOM – not least because, in a few weeks, we’ll be hosting our annual, popular Christmas Call-In Show.
The program is a decades-old tradition at KNOM. Stretching from 10am to 5pm the Friday before Christmas, the show gives our listeners a singular opportunity: a way to personally wish their loved ones and friends a holiday greeting, live and on the air.
In years past, the show was often a marathon on-air session for our previous general manager, KNOM founder and friend, Tom Busch (pictured, December 1999). These days, the show is a team effort, with staff and volunteers pitching in to man phone lines and deejay holiday music in between the many calls we receive.
We’ve taken callers from far and wide for our Christmas Call-In Show: including soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan, wishing their loved ones back home a Merry Christmas. It’s a special show that, each year, is made possible through your support.
