As the length of sunlight continues to lessen each day, we’ve been transitioning to more indoor time together: cooking, cleaning & dancing. I love to dance, but I think I have spent most of my life dancing alone in my room with the radio blaring. It’s been a nice change of pace to let loose with 4 of my closest friends to release stress, keep active & just have fun! Normally our dance parties begin when our house DJ (i.e. Josh) returns home after deejaying his “Late Afternoon Show” at the KNOM station. He’ll plug in his computer and share some of the latest top-charting music. He even takes our song requests.
We all begin to gather around the open area in our living room & naturally form a circle. Eva shows off her shoulder action & amazing steps. Josh does his interpretive dance, while Lucus shares a jig. I love teaching cheesy dance moves, like the “sprinkler” and the “shopping cart.” Daynee leads us with some cool dance moves, sometimes even having us jump on the couches. Sorry, grandma!
She’s also shared her stash of glow-sticks that friends and family have sent her. I’ve never been to a rave, but I know it couldn’t compare with the spectacular “aurora” show that we put on in our living room. There’s nothing like some good, clean fun to lift your spirits.
