The Shaktoolik boys basketball team claimed the 2026 1A Boys State Championship with a 60–46 win over Minto on March 14, securing their second consecutive title.
Sophomore Chase Katchatag energized the crowd with a slam dunk in the final minutes, adding to an already commanding lead.
Shaktoolik is located approximately 130 miles southeast of Nome, across the Norton Sound and is one of the communities in KNOM’s service area.
