Two Nome residents tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday. The two cases are not close contacts of each other and Norton Sound Health Corporation reports that the cases are unrelated. It is not clear how the individuals contracted the virus or why they were tested.

According to NSHC, this brings the regional total of active COVID-19 cases to five with all active cases in Nome. The Tribal health consortium reports that the individuals are isolating and close contacts are being identified.
