Aaron Burmeister Gets 2nd Place Finish in Iditarod 2021

Aaron Burmeister of Nome is the 2nd place finisher in this year’s Iditarod Sled Dog Race. His time on the Gold Loop Trail concluded at 8:23 AM, just a few hours behind Dallas Seavey. Seavey was first into Deshka Landing at 5:08 earlier this morning. Burmeister bested his previous top place finish of 3rd place in 2015. He came in 5th in 2020.

The top 5 finishers (in order) are Dallas Seavey, Aaron Burmeister, Brent Sass, Wade Marrs, and Mille Porsild. Nicolas Petit is the latest finisher to arrive in Deshka Landing in 6th place at 1:25pm. As of this afternoon, 30 mushers are still on the trail.
