Earlier this week, one Golovin resident was killed as a result of an ATV accident.

According to Alaska State Troopers, 47-year-old Rachel Olson of Golovin was driving an ATV Tuesday, during the early morning hours. Troopers were notified around 1:45am Tuesday that Olson had died when her ATV rolled-over.

Nome based State Troopers responded to the incident and found that alcohol was not believed to be a factor. Troopers’ spokesperson, Tim Despain, was not able to be reached for comment before the airing of this story.

Olson’s body has been sent to Anchorage for an autopsy. KNOM will update you on this story as more information becomes available.
