A Nome man has been charged with two counts of assault and a DUI after a vehicle rollover on the Nome-Teller Highway on Monday, May 29th.
Alaska State Troopers received a report of the rolled vehicle near the Penny River Bridge at 10:19pm on Monday night. Four people were injured in the crash, including the driver 25-year-old Steven Gillette of Nome.
Allegedly, Gillette was intoxicated while driving. He was arrested Monday and remanded to the Anvil Mountain Correctional Center without bail.
Gillette was arraigned in the Nome Courthouse yesterday afternoon. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 8th.
