Perspectives on “Alaxsxa”

A multi-media theatrical production that recently toured Alaska and off-Broadway in New York City brought Alaska Native culture, and cross-cultural encounters in the state from a variety of perspectives, to a broader audience. This collaborative, story-rich, conversation-sparking production was the focus of a recent episode of KNOM’s “Story49.”

It was a proud moment both for the Nome community and for KNOM early last month, as a local theatre production brought a few of our full-time volunteers into the arts scene of our region — and brought a taste of 1890s England to 2010s Alaska.

Meet Lucus

Lucus Keppel, KNOM’s new volunteer producer, comes to our mission with a breadth of experience in travel, academic study, broadcasting, ministry, and community service.
