Lance Johnson hails from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. It’s a region steeped in Civil War history and Americana, so perhaps it’s no surprise that Lance features so much of it on his Thursday-night roots-music show, “The Roadhouse Ramble.”
Lance brings to his weekly shows a wealth of prior experience in radio, as well as a wide array of interests and a passion for community service. On top of a love for roots music, folk, Americana, and blues — all of which he celebrates on the “Ramble” — Lance also once fronted a glam-metal band called Tuff Skinz, Inc.
Before coming to Nome, Lance spent fifteen years as the Program Director for a 4-H Center in the Lower 48. And that’s not all; in his own words, Lance “failed miserably trying to be an actor on a Woody Allen film, and is not ashamed to admit he enjoys watching the Food Network.”
When he’s not in the studio – or cooking, or playing music – Lance says he “spends much of his free time missing many moose while hunting; donating several lures to the Nome and Solomon Rivers; and getting stuck in the middle of nowhere trying, yet again, to fix his snowmachine.”
