Let not a drop of sunshine go to waste! Alaskans of all ages seize the long summer days for work, play, and often both at once. For example, berry picking. During the summer, bushes all over Alaska explode with berries of all species, especially blueberries. Every August, Nome holds its annual berry festival, where anyone can share the delicious goodies they’ve prepared from their berry picking haul. A ubiquitous favorite is “blueberry delight,” a sweet treat as unique as the person who prepares it.
From far-off camp to their own kitchens, KNOM accompanies Western Alaskans throughout their daily life. Whether in the fun of berry picking or the boredom of ordinary chores, KNOM is an ever-present friend to all.
KNOM could not fulfill its mission without your steadfast support. Thank you for caring so deeply about Western Alaska. If you would ever like to drop us a line, feel free to contact us by phone at 907-868-1200 or by email at belong@knom.org – we would love to hear from you!
