Dear Friend…(June 2026)

Jesus once said that we must work while it is day; when night comes, no one can work. This verse certainly rings true for Alaskans when summer rolls around. There is much work to do in preparation for the impending winter months: rivers run rich with salmon, game roams the tundra, and wild berries fill the hillsides. As the daylight surpasses twenty hours per day, Alaskans will be hard at work stockpiling food for their families.

During the long hours away at fish camp or elsewhere, Alaskans stay connected with their loved ones back home by radio. Even in remote camps, radio brings an entertaining music mix, local news and weather updates, daily prayers and weekly broadcasts of the Mass to every listener. Through KNOM’s unique hotlines program, Alaskans send personal messages to their loved ones far away, from home to camp or vice versa.

None of this service to Western Alaska would be possible without your support. Thank you for helping KNOM fulfill its mission! Thousands of Western Alaskans are indebted to you every day. If you ever want to drop us a line, feel free to call us at 907-868-1200 or write to us at belong@knom.org. We would love to hear from you!
