Dearest Alaska: One Man, One Dog, and One Landfill

In this month’s Dearest Alaska, we are exploring what it takes to manage the waste of a community. In Nome, one man is responsible for all the trash of the city, and that man’s name is Glenn Jones. KNOM’s Mitch Borden spent a day with Jones and got to see some of what goes into overseeing a rural community’s landfill.

Dearest Alaska is a new audio project; the program will be available on this website and broadcast live on the first Saturday and Sunday of every month at 12 noon and 5pm on KNOM (96.1 FM, 780 AM).

If you or someone you know would like to participate in an episode of Dearest Alaska, please contact KNOM at 907-443-5221 or dearest.alaska@knom.org.
