Lacking Quorum, Nome City Council Tables Budget Ordinances to Feb. 27

Only three City Councilman were present for the Nome City Council regular meeting last night. Lew Tobin, Mark Johnson, and Stan Anderson discussed the City’s 2016 financial audit during a work session before the scheduled 7:00pm meeting.

Without having four councilmen present, a quorum could not be reached, and no ordinances or resolutions could be passed. Instead, open discussion focused on NJUS labor contract negotiations and concerns about the City-run ambulance service losing money.

All items on the Council’s agenda from Monday night, including the seven different City budget ordinances, will be discussed during the next regular meeting on February 27th at 7pm.
