The City of Nome Common Council will hear a long list of budget approvals during their first meeting of the year on Monday night, January 14. The meeting will begin with the newest Nome Police Department investigator, Bob Pruckner, taking his oath of office.
Five ordinances to approve budget amendments will undergo first readings and discussion tonight. The General Municipal Fund, Capital Projects Fund, and Port of Nome Fund are all among budgets to be amended. The Council will vote to accept a local match contribution for Port Road improvements by the Department of Transportation.
In December’s meeting, the City was made aware that this improvement project will cost Nome about $30,000 more than originally anticipated. Also on the agenda are two resolutions to approve the City of Nome’s state and federal legislative priorities.
Tonight’s meeting will begin at 7pm in the Nome Council Chambers. Beginning at 5pm, the Council will meet for a work session to discuss NSEDC Community Benefit Share funding.
