Research vessels off Western Alaska shorelines, and scientists visiting from the Lower 48 or around the world, have become commonplace in KNOM country.
For example, KNOM has chronicled for listeners recent studies of a seabird die-off, the bodies having washed onshore. The causes of the deaths are not fully understood, although in some cases, the birds were ultimately found to have starved to death. The reason for that starvation still isn’t fully known.
