Ice, less snow, and relatively warm weather: that’s what Iditarod 2010 mushers can expect on this year’s trail. That combination could set the stage for an exceptionally fast race: or it could make for an unusually rough trail.
Our news director Laureli is in Anchorage for the start of Iditarod 38. She sampled the opinions of a few race veterans – Jeff King, Lance Mackey, and Jessie Royer – at Thursday’s mushers meeting. Each musher takes a different perspective on this year’s trail conditions:
