Letter From the GM

As we move into spring (summer for many of you — but not quite yet here in Nome!), I realized this month marks two years since I joined the KNOM family. Wow! What an honor and a privilege it’s been to be here, to witness firsthand the importance of KNOM’s role in Western Alaska, and to grow in my understanding and appreciation of the nonprofit world. Every day, I am amazed by the kindness and generosity of our donors, and I am truly humbled by you.

Now that tax season is behind us, I wanted to take a moment to mention something that might not always be top of mind: legacy gifts and Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs). While I certainly hope you’ll consider KNOM in your estate planning and RMDs, these are also meaningful ways to support any of the causes close to your heart. No matter where life takes you, planning ahead ensures your values and commitments continue to make an impact. If you have any questions about how these gifts work, please don’t hesitate to reach out! We’re always here to help.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letters. I want you to know: when you write back, I do read every note, and I cherish them! I also love the occasional phone calls – they brighten my day.

With love and gratitude,
Miranda
