The cultures of Western Alaska are strong, beautiful, faithful, and resilient. By embracing culture, KNOM’s programming highlights the strength and history that lives on in these traditions.

For nearly fifty years, KNOM has been honored to not only witness, but record, amplify, and share cultural resources and values.

Regular programs like “Elder Voices,” Native music, storytelling, and Native language and tradition spots are integral parts of the broadcast day and a reflection of radio community.
