Effects of Longest-Ever Government Shutdown Are Felt in Nome

Employees in Western Alaska and all over the U.S. are working without pay or on furlough as the partial federal government shutdown nears a month in duration. Regionally, the shutdown has impacted organizations like UAF Northwest Campus, for which some grant opportunities are in limbo, as well as NOAA climate scientists, whose research is curtailed without federal support.
