Five Arrested in Akiachak After Break-In at Village Store

Three men and two minors were charged with burglary, theft, and criminal mischief after allegedly breaking into the village store in Akiachak early last week.

Alaska State Troopers (AST) responded to the scene the morning of last Sunday, July 22. It was found that candy, tobacco, cell phones, and speakers worth more than $6,000 had been stolen.

The break-in occurred around 3am on July 22nd.

After further investigation, troopers charged five Akiachak residents: 24-year-old Ira Peter, 18-year-old Max Peter, 18-year-old Jaymond Altsik, as well as two minors.

Ira Peter was also charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

Criminal charges were forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice and the Bethel District Attorney’s Office.
