Yukon Quest Registration Deadline Looms, 25 Mushers On List for 2018 Race

A group of sled dogs dashes over the snow in front of a crowd behind white and yellow barriers.

With one musher recently withdrawing from the 2018 Yukon Quest, the current musher list consists of 25 names.

Earlier this week, Rick Katucki of Eagle withdrew from the 1,000-mile sled-dog race through Alaska and Canada. Still on the list are ten rookies and some familiar veterans.

2017 Quest champion Matt Hall looks for a second consecutive win this year. Also signed up to race from Fairbanks to Whitehorse are mushers Laura Neese, Hugh Neff, Allen Moore, and many more.

So far, roughly five different countries are represented by the mushers signed up for the 2018 Yukon Quest.

The deadline to register for the Quest is December 1st at midnight, after that point there will be additional fees for interested mushers. February 3rd is the start date of the 2018 Yukon Quest.
