AK Superior Court Judge Recommends SNC Reschedule Annual Meeting; SNC Complies

Sitnasuak Native Corporation’s annual shareholder meeting will not happen at the end of this month as originally planned. After the Alaska Superior Court recommended that SNC reschedule their 2017 election, Sitnasuak announced today the postponement of their meeting.

According to a statement from SNC, the Board of Directors agreed that rescheduling the annual meeting will help ensure a fair election. Chairman Bobby Evans said in a release, “our number-one priority is to protect Shareholder rights, and to effectively do that, our elections must be fair, including cooperation with the Court’s recommendation.”

According to Sitnasuak, the Court suggested rescheduling the election to a later date after its decision on a preliminary injunction motion is made. Earlier this month, SNC filed for preliminary injunctive relief in its lawsuit against three of its current Directors, which has yet to be ruled upon.

The new date for the 2017 annual shareholder meeting has not been determined; however, SNC says that information will be announced “as soon as possible.”
