Elder Voices: Mike Williams, Sr.

On this week’s Elder Voices, join Iditarod veteran Mike Williams, Sr., as he remembers growing up in Akiak and living by the seasons.

He also shares his involvement in the tribal rights movement as a member of the National Congress of American Indians:

“If we do not speak up, we won’t be heard. But we need to speak up and to be heard and to make changes if we need to, by law, and do what is right for the generations that are coming.”

Join us for a conversation with Mike Williams, Sr., from the KNOM Archive. Listen to another episode of Elder Voices each Wednesday on KNOM at 11am and again at 6pm.
