Financial support from the City of Nome to Nome Public Schools will be discussed during a work session in City Hall tonight.
Following the conclusion of the work session, the Nome City Council will determine the fate of an ordinance which would require property owners within city limits to remove snow and ice from public sidewalks that are adjacent to their properties.
New business on the agenda includes an ordinance authorizing the City to purchase property from Arctic Gold Mining. The City also plans to authorize the disposal of property to Alaska Marine Lines through a lease. Both ordinances are in the first reading phase.
Before the regular meeting ends, the Nome City Council could approve a resolution declaring May 7th-13th as Municipal Clerk’s Week.
Tonight’s work session commences at 6pm in Council Chambers with the regular meeting immediately following.
