BP Principals Scholarship Program Awards Money to Two Western Alaska Students

Two Western Alaska students have received college scholarships as a part of the BP Principals Scholarship program.

Graduating seniors Katie Beans of St. Mary’s and Ezekiel Eakin of Kotzebue are among 25 students from around the state selected to receive the one-time scholarship totaling $4,000.

The program is a partnership between BP and the Alaska Principals Foundation. Students were nominated by their high school principals for their academic achievement, leadership qualities, and community involvement.

Nominations were limited to just one student per school, with the APF Board of Directors voting on the final scholarship recipients.

According to BP, the Principals Scholarship program has awarded more than $3.8 million to 825 students in Alaska since 1985.
