A 19-year-old was found after a search and rescue mission near Kipnuk over the weekend.
Clinton Paul had left the community of Tuntutuliak on Saturday, April 8th, at about 3 o’clock in the afternoon bound for Kipnuk on a snowmachine. But when he didn’t arrive, a search began with teams from Tuntutuliak, Kipnuk, Kwigillingok, and Kongiganak.
An Aniak trooper aircraft and Bethel Search and Rescue spotter also took part in the search.
Paul was located on Sunday, April 9th, about 6 hours after troopers had received the initial report. Paul was found in a safety cabin between Kwigillingok and Kipnuk where he had stayed after running out of gas.
Troopers state Paul was cold, hungry, and thirsty upon their arrival, but was in good health.
