In the Nome court system, the Superior Court judge seat has been officially vacant for over a year. But as of February, a new judge has been appointed to that position.
Romano DiBenedetto was a magistrate judge in Fairbanks prior to coming to Nome. As DiBenedetto is in the process of finding housing here in Nome, KNOM’s Davis Hovey spoke to the judge about his childhood dream, his time practicing law, and, of course, Iditarod:
