Lady Nanooks and Unalakleet boys both took second place team awards in the 2017 Nome Subway Showdown over the weekend. The teams ranked behind Kotzebue girls and boys, who both grabbed first place.

Nome-Beltz players Annalise Contreras and Aaron Motis were free throw champions in the showdown. Nome’s Kerry Ahmasuk and Unalakleet’s Aiden Ivanoff were three-point champions, while Taeler Brunette was Nome’s hot shot champion.

Mikey Scott was the only Nome-Beltz player to join the Boys All-Tournament team. And Nome’s Lisa Okbaok and EJ Rachon took two spots on the Girls Tournament Team.

Lady Nanooks and Nome Boys both play next against Dutch Harbor on Friday starting at 6pm, following the Nome Girls JV Blue & White Game.
