After having to cancel their last scheduled meeting in Nome, the Marijuana Control Board held their rescheduled meeting at City Hall on Thursday afternoon. Originally, the meeting was supposed to last until 4:30pm, but all business on the agenda was completed by 3:30pm.
Chairman of the Marijuana Control Board, Peter Mlynarik, led the meeting in person while the other Board members participated via phone. No public testimony was taken during this meeting, so the focus stayed on the remaining agenda items, including a license for R.C. Tinderbox in Anchorage, reviewing a draft on testing requirements, and updates on marijuana establishment licensing.
The current draft regarding laboratory testing of marijuana and marijuana products requires a potency test on the marijuana bud and flower, the marijuana concentrate, and a marijuana product, including edibles.
According to the licensing update, the Marijuana Control Board has received 458 applications for various marijuana facilities or stores as of October 21st. Applicants who have incomplete status must submit all of the necessary corrections and completed documents by November 18th to have their applications on December’s meeting agenda.
The date of the next meeting, in December, is yet to be announced.
