Nome Nanooks Place 21st Overall at ACS Tournament; Homer Mariners Place 1st

Wrestlers from around the state competed at the ACS Wrestling Tournament this weekend. Nome Beltz High School placed 21st overall while the Homer Mariners placed first with a score of 252.5 points.

Over 350 wrestlers represented 46 different 1A2A3A schools at this tournament. The lead scorers for NBHS were Caleb Evatt and Ben Cross, who both finished 5th in their weight classes. Evatt competed in the Varsity 113 weight class and scored 20.5 points for Nome. Cross earned 14 team points in the Varsity 138 class.

Nome Beltz finished with 46.5 team points, just 0.5 ahead of the Grace Christian School. The Nanook wrestlers travel next to Kotzebue for the Bush Brawl competition this weekend.
