Meet Miles

Miles Collins
Miles John Collins, born September 1st, 2014.

We’re so happy to tell you that one of KNOM’s permanent staffers and a former community deejay — Laura (Davis) Collins and husband Jeff — have just welcomed a new member of their family.

Laura gave birth to their first child, Miles John Collins, at 7:55am on September 1st in Anchorage. Miles was 6 pounds, 6 ounces, and 21 inches long at birth, and the healthy baby is doing wonderfully, and adorably, with his proud parents back in Nome.

Aside from eating, napping, and making sense of the brand-new world around him, Miles has even spent time in our studios. He visited with Laura and family last month, although Miles — a future graduate of the high school class of 2032 — isn’t quite old enough to be a deejay (yet).

Many congratulations, Jeff and Laura!
