Profile: New Principal, New Year At Nome Elementary

September is back-to-school month, and with a new school year comes new faces.

One of those faces belongs to Paul Clark, the new principal at Nome Elementary School. Clark is an experienced educator who taught language in the Lower 48 and most recently served as Deering’s elementary school principal. He says that he draws on experience as a parent — and as a child himself — in his new role.

“I think that for adults, especially working in a school, it’s important to remember that we were kids once, too. And we weren’t all perfect all the time,” says Clark.
