The featured band for the 2013 Nome Midnight Sun Folk Festival is Boston-born David Wax Museum. Playing traditional Mexican instruments like the jarana and the quijada (donkey jaw bone) and throwing in an occasional guitar, accordian and a cajon box drum, the group has a sound all its own. So unique, they’ve created their own music genre – Mexo-Americana.
