It’s back!
The 40th running of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race kicks off this Saturday, March 3rd at 10am, with the ceremonial start in downtown Anchorage, Alaska.
As KNOM news director Laureli Kinneen and reporter Ben Matheson prepare to cover the ceremonial start – they’ll be reporting live on KNOM’s airwaves from 10am to 12noon, Saturday – we’re preparing, too, for another year of following the Last Great Race. On the air (96.1fm, 780am) and on this race blog, we’ll be covering the mushers and their sled dog teams as they traverse the 1,000 miles from Anchorage through the Alaskan wilderness to Nome.
