Hans Gatt arrived in Nome on Tuesday, March 16th at 4:04pm, with a final race time of 9 days, 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 2 seconds.

Right off of his sled, Gatt discussed his run in 2010 – the best finish of his Iditarod career – and compared The Last Great Race to the Yukon Quest (a race he’s won three times).
Correction: Laureli and Leah mention in our live coverage that Gatt’s 2010 finish time would have earned him a championship in all years but 2010 and 2002 (when Martin Buser set the current Iditarod trail record). In fact, one more Iditarod finish was faster: Doug Swingley won in 2000 with a time of 9 days, 0 hours, 58 minutes, and 6 seconds – about 6 minutes faster than Hans Gatt in 2010.
